GLC (Global Learning Centre)
The Global Learning Centre (GLC) is the learning hub of the College. Students regularly visit the GLC either as a class, in small groups or individually. Students attend for a variety of reasons including but not limited to: reading, research, class work, use of computers, research skills activities, literary extension activities, publishing support, book talks and private study. Students also visit during lunch breaks and pursue leisure activities such as computer games, board games, quiet reading, quiet discussion and other GLC one off activities such as chess playing, Book Week activities and craft activities. All students are registered for the Premiers’ Reading Challenge and reading has a high priority in the College both in English classes and communities. Points are awarded for reading activities and go towards the award of The Readers Cup at the end of the year. The GLC is a warm, welcoming environment that supports all students and staff in the pursuit of learning, reading for pleasure and the acquisition of information skills.
