Camps
Crusoe College provides students with a wide range of opportunities to be involved in college camps.
All students are encouraged to participate, however it is not compulsory.
Year 7 Camp
The Year 7 Adventure Experience is a fantastic opportunity for students to meet their teachers and make new friends. The camp will be held at Alexandra Adventure Resort in 2027. It offers a variety of adventure activities that encourage students to challenge themselves while receiving support from their peers, staff, and camp leaders.
Activities may include a high ropes course, giant swing, flying fox, archery, kayaking, and frisbee golf. These activities run throughout the day, followed by a range of enjoyable evening activities, including movies, trivia games, board games, table tennis, colouring, word searches, journaling, and quiet time.
In 2027, our camp will be held in Week 1 of Term 2. Look out for the camp flyer in the transition packs that will be delivered to our feeder schools in late Term 3, 2026. For more information, visit the Alexandra Adventure Resort website.
Year 8 Camp
Our annual Year 8 Camp is held at Camp Howqua, located in the picturesque Howqua Valley.
This camp is enjoyed by many Bendigo-based secondary colleges, and students who attend consistently have an amazing experience.The aim of this camp is to encourage students to challenge themselves and work together as a team through a range of team-building activities. Activities may include a high ropes course, horse riding, archery, the Survivor Challenge, a low ropes course, flying fox, and the ever-popular giant waterslide, affectionately nicknamed “The Wedginator”.
Evening activities may include movies and a variety of team-building challenges, such as balloon games, the toilet paper designer dress challenge, the blindfolded cotton ball challenge, balloon races, and “Pass the Plate” without using hands. Of course, there is also the much-anticipated table tennis competition in the games room.
Year 9 Camp
Each year, our Year 9 students are offered the opportunity to participate in the Melbourne Experience. This program involves travelling to Melbourne by V/Line train as a group.
During the experience, students visit and tour a range of iconic Melbourne attractions, including the MCG and Australian Sports Museum, the Shrine of Remembrance, Parliament House, the Old Melbourne Gaol, ACMI, Federation Square, Chinatown, the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), the State Library Victoria, the Yarra River precinct, and Melbourne Museum.
The purpose of this experience is to help students develop independence and confidence while learning to navigate Melbourne’s public transport system. Students gain practical experience reading train and tram timetables, following an itinerary, arriving at designated activities on time, and making responsible decisions about meals and spending while away from home. Accommodation is provided at The Drifter, located close to Queen Victoria Market and Flagstaff Gardens, placing students right in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.
Year 10 Camp
Phillip Island
The Year 10 Phillip Island Experience is a highly sought-after opportunity. Students travel by coach to Phillip Island for a two-night, three-day adventure.
Activities may include Amaze N Things, Churchill Island, Penguin Parade, SkyTrail, ten-pin bowling, Laser Challenge, Vietnam Veterans Museum, surfing, paddleboarding or kayaking lessons, and a visit to the famous Phillip Island Chocolate Factory.
This experience provides a wonderful opportunity for Year 10 students to celebrate the friendships they have built throughout their four years at Crusoe College. It is also a memorable way to mark and celebrate their time at the college before moving on to the next stage of their education.
