Crusoe Student Leadership

At Crusoe College, we encourage all of our students to be leaders both inside and outside of the College. Students at Crusoe College participate in a number of youth forums, and public speaking competitions.

The College encourages the development of student leadership. We believe participation in any form of leadership develops personal confidence, responsibility and self-esteem and offers students other long term benefits such as enhanced job prospects. Many positions of leadership are available for students across all year levels. These include Community Captains, Sport Captains, Ambassadors, Environment and Performing Arts Captains. Certificates and badges are presented to students who undertake a leadership position.

Energy Breakthrough

Energy Breakthrough is a pedal powered vehicle program designed for students to focus on and develop a range of skills and understandings such as vehicle construction and maintenance, health and fitness, sustainability and team work. The program consists of four main components; theory, vehicle building/preparation, training and racing. Racing events are set across the school year commencing with the Wonthaggi 24 hour race followed by numerous six hour races across Victoria and interstate, culminating in the event of the year, the RACV 24 Hour Energy Breakthrough three day event at Maryborough. This requires each student to have access to a well maintained road or mountain bike for training, as the physical aspect of the program is intense but very rewarding.

Intra-School Sport

Students who perform well in the House Sports have the opportunity to compete at a higher level (Sandhurst Division Carnivals or even North-Western Regional or School Sport Victoria Finals). This is a great honour and Crusoe College is developing a strong culture of sporting excellence that we are striving to build on every year. We also compete in Junior and Intermediate Sports Days during Terms 1, 2 and 3 against other Bendigo Schools. A variety of sports are offered each term. Successful teams will have the opportunity to go on and compete at a higher level.

PE Uniform is compulsory for students representing the College in sport. Team uniforms will be supplied by the College on the day for students.
